Styled Senior Portrait Sessions
A styled session is a great choice for seniors who want just a little bit more. A regular senior session will preserve the memory of what you looked like at this age and at this time. But taking the time to work with me to style a perfect story session can preserve who you are during this incredibly momentous season.
Kelly had a very definite vision for her senior story. “Story” was, in fact, the key and the inspiration behind the styling of her session. She LOVES books. I mean like, really loves books. We knew we wanted a location that would showcase her love of reading. Location is the key to building a styled session.
Kelly is a voracious reader! She always has been. As an elementary student, she spent the months of June and July tracking books she’d read for the public library summer reading contests. She won awards for the “most words read” at her school.
Choosing a Theme for Your Styled Session
So when it was time to style Kelly’s senior story session, the library seemed like a perfect location to tell her story in portraits. We were so very grateful to the children’s librarian at the Palm Beach County Main Branch Library for allowing us to spend some time in their stacks capturing Kelly’s Senior Story Session: Episode 2.
Kelly spent some time on Pinterest creating a board that served as inspiration for her portraits. This is a great way to help me know exactly what kind of story session you’re hoping to create!
Choosing a Wardrobe For Styled Portrait Sessions
We had so much fun! For this session, Kelly styled a wardrobe that was a not-so-subtle nod to her very favorite book series – Slytherin sweater and tie, but still with her signature Converse high-tops. A styled session often adds props to really tell the story, and Kelly’s was no exception. Her Harry Potter wand and a collection of her own personal favorite books were the perfect additions to her story shoot.
