Cade’s Story | Valedictorian Senior Portraits

There are a lot of high school memories that are worth capturing, and none more important than graduation honors. I actually shot Cade’s first “senior portrait” at the end of his junior year when he served as the Junior Marshall for the class of 2019. I was so excited to help him capture all of the important stories of his senior year, ending with his Valedictorian Senior Portraits.

Senior Sports Portraits

We started Cade’s senior memories with a nod to his senior football season. We hit the practice field at his school for a series of sports portraits. Cade told me he was headed off to the University of Central Florida to study data analysis, for a future career in sports reporting. SUPER COOL!

South Florida Natural Portraits

We finished up on the football field and headed off to the nature trail at the Palm Beach Gardens North County District Park for some South Florida natural portraits. I love the pines and palms, and the quiet woodsy feel of this brand new location. Such a perfect spot for portraits.

Valedictorian Senior Portraits

My favorite portraits of Cade, though, came from his graduation portrait mini-session in the spring of his senior year. When the announcements for valedictorian and salutatorian came out, Cade’s school was still in a COVID-19 “will we or won’t we” cycle on the question of graduation ceremonies. Many schools cancelled their ceremonies altogether.

So it was important to us to capture these images that featured his academic achievements and accomplishments. We were lucky enough to get to do a mini-session right on his high school’s campus! I love capturing graduation portraits on school campuses – right where my seniors spent so much of their time in high school, making memories.

Cade’s mini grad session was so much fun, and captured his valedictorian senior portraits perfectly! The exact right way to end his school year before college prep started.

Graduation Memories

And guess what? They had a graduation ceremony after all – drive-in style. We got to hear his valedictory speech after all. And it was just as spectacular as I expected it to be.
